This week in Rumour Patrol we discuss the potential new Green Lantern, casting for Beauty and The Beast and another new Ghostbusters?
In Rumour Patrol we look at the biggest rumours from the previous seven days and comment on whether we doubt or hope they are true.
This sounds like a good idea to me. Luke Evans typically plays humble characters and will be interesting seeing him play overly confident almost compensating character of Gaston.
Chris Pine to play Green Lantern
This rumour is circulating on the interwebs and the original source is a post by some guy on instragram. However, that guy also predicted the casting of Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) and Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman). Regardless of its source, this is a great idea and Chris Pine would do an awesome Hal Jordan.
Okay, this idea seems to be made up but a lot of websites are reporting on this. They are already doing a female-led Ghostbusters but now they have smashing together a male-led version. Please don’t say this is true. Although a Russo Brother directed Ghostbusters film would be awesome.
Neill Blomkamp’s Alien film may be more than one
We’ve covered Neill Blomkamp and his exploration into the Alien franchise quite a bit over the past couple of weeks. This only adds to the positive limelight of this hopeful pairing and it may lead to more than one film. Let’s see how good the first film is first.
Ouch, sorry to anyone who pre-booked early for SDCC. James Gunn believes that Marvel finds the SDCC to complicated and costly to attend each year. After the success of their personal conference where they announced the phase 3 lineup of the MCU, is there much point of making their announcements in SDCC? I can see the logic, if Marvel does pull out I would imagine they would still have a show just not the biggest show. For the 2015 SDCC I would imagine Ant-Man discussions and maybe a trailer for Captain America 3.
That’s it for this week. What do you guys think? Are you excited for any of these rumours?
