Holy mother of god. This is Third Act’s weekly spoiler discussion post where we discuss the events this week’s Game of Thrones episode.
Spoilers Warning & Guidelines
Obviously, this will have spoilers from this week episode. However, we do have a few guidelines we’d like people to consider before posting:
- No spoilers from episodes that haven’t aired yet.
- No spoilers from the books, unless as a commentary about how the episode deferred from the book.
The goal of this weekly segment is a place for discussion on each episode and speculate on future episodes.
Ser Jorah No-More?
Captain Friendzone Ser Jorah Mormont has been exiled for the 100th time. Instead of getting the hint (beyond a hint at this point), Jorah has decided to fight in the pits for some reason.
He needs to cut off his arm! Win the pits, cut off his arm and join Daenerys as a one-armed advisor! Having one arm is all the rage!
Arya continues to do nothing in another episode!
However, Jaqen H’ghar posses to Arya that she must poison this skinny man who is taking advantage of people. Arya is in Braavos, guess who else is going to Braavos? Ser Meryn Trant who sits on Arya’s death list. Perhaps in the next episode she will be given the opportunity to kill the skinny man or Ser Meryn Trant and have to decide between being Arya and being anybody.
The work continues…
Quite a few pieces of key information was revealed in this scene with Cersei. Tommen is being a big ol’ cry baby. Kevan Lannister is back in King’s Landing and has been appointed the Hand of the King and the work continues. The work of course is referring to the work being done on turning the Mountain into a monster.
Kevan Lannister has kind of filled in Tywin’s position as he is head of the army and now the Hand of the King. Will he stay idly by as Cersei is imprisoned? I doubt it.
As we’ve all predicted Sansa now knows that Rickon and Bran Stark are both alive somewhere and she isn’t alone.
Roose Bolton is a smart man, his plan of staying within the walls will work. However, Ramsey is also smart and has been underestimated as a strategically thinking mind.
I would predict that next episode Ramsey plan is to force an attack from Stannis. He will assassinate a key member of Stannis’ crew, my best guess is Stannis’ daughter, and then force Stannis hand to retaliate causing him to attack and loose. This leaves it open for Littlefinger to step in and save the day possibly, or even Jon Snow.
With a show filled with great duo-acts, we get the possibly the best duo combination yet! The similarities between them are sweet and will hopefully help build their relation.
Is Olly still seeking vengeance for what the Wildlings did to his village? Probably. It’ll be interesting to see how this will pan out.
Lord of Bones
Oh my it’s him! Oh wait…
Army of the dead
When you thought it was all over. Pretty much the majority of the Wildlings were turned into the army of the dead. Jon Snow was right and this force will kill everyone in Westoros.
We have been shown the other secret to defeating the White Walkers; Valyrian Steel.
Who else has Valyrian Steel? Ned Stark’s sword, Ice, was made from Valyrian Steel and then that was melted down to make two swords. One for Jaime Lannister and one for Joffery. Jaime gives his sword to Breienne of Tarth and Joffery’s is with the Lannister family, most probably with Tommen.
We need more! As soon as possible!
Come at me Snow!
The phrase ‘Winter is coming‘ has never had so much weight as it did after this end scene. If only everyone in Westoros would all get along and work together against this threat!
That’s it for this week? Best episode of the season? Share your thoughts in the comments.
