Recent saviour of Batman V Superman, Ben Affleck, this time tackles a bigger foe then the man of steel; this time it’s numbers. Ben Affleck plays Christian Wolff, a man who is incredibly good with numbers. So good in fact, he becomes an accountant (stay with me) who works for illegal entities to manage their books.  He takes on a contract for a robotics company, which is where Anna Kendrick comes in as another accountant (when did accountants become so hot?) and notices huge discrepancy of numbers since accountfleck joined. Obviously, this doesn’t turn out great and Ben Affleck starts killing people (Batman origin?).

I’ve slightly butchered the synopsis, but there isn’t too much information out there about this property. Other than a dark sinister tone and repeating the question if that Ben Affleck can live a normal life.

The cast includes, Ben Affleck (Batman V Superman), Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect), J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) and Jon ‘The Punisher’ Bernthal (Sicario). Directed by Gavin O’Connor (Warrior) and written by Bill Dubuque (The Judge).

This has got me intrigued, they haven’t revealed too much. Which, with today’s typical trailers, is a miracle. The cast is outstanding, Ben Affleck seems to be at his A-game in the trailer and I can’t wait to see what Jon Bernthal does. I haven’t seen The Judge, which the writer previously worked on, but I’ve heard positive things. I also haven’t seen Warrior, but all I hear is ‘you should totally watch that film, it’s awesome’. I hope this film can spread my sheets and Excel after investing in quality products and gain a great annual return (accountant puns!).

The Accountant is set for release in the UK on 4th November 2016.
