This post is part of the Age of Ultron Aftermath series.

So, you’ve seen Avengers: Age of Ultron six times, and you’re wondering, ‘what does this mean for my favourite character?’. In this series of articles, we’re going to take a look at where each character has been left, and use what we already know, as well as some speculation, to discuss what the end of Age of Ultron means for each of the Avengers. Needless to say, spoilers ahead for Age of Ultron.

Age of Ultron – What Does it Mean For Black Widow?

Black Widow got a lot of character development in Age of Ultron. We learnt a lot more about her history and her training, got some insight into how she feels about her life, and even got a romantic sub-plot. When the film ends, she’s in a complicated place, and one that’s quite different to a lot of the other characters.

The main thing to know going forward is that she is now, along with Captain America, leading the new Avengers team. She’s been an important part of the Avengers since the beginning, and been working with S.H.I.E.L.D for a long time before that, and now knowing some more about her personal life, and with Bruce Banner potentially out of the picture for a while, this is probably the best place for her.

With her seemingly sticking around for a while, it’s likely that we’ll be seeing her again soon, which will most likely be (I feel like I’m saying this a lot) in Captain America: Civil War. She was not only left with him at the end of Age of Ultron, but spent a lot of time building a friendship with him during The Winter Soldier. She will also more than likely be in Avengers: Infinity War, because as I’ve previously stated, I think it would be nice for the fans and the film makers if all six of the original Avengers team could appear here.

Age of Ultron – What Does it Mean For Black Widow?

So what about her and Bruce Banner? She seemed very keen to run away with him and settle down somewhere, and with The Hulk likely to return at some point, this could be a nice send off for the two characters, should they both survive the third and fourth Avengers films. We also know that she’s seen her best friend Hawkeye be able to settle down, and would probably like something similar for herself.

What do you think is next for Black Widow? Did we miss anything? Share your thoughts in the comments.
